Do You Know Roxanne Morrow?
Roxanne Morrow has been a member of MWN since 2011. She was born in Houston, TX and reared in Nederland, a small Dutch community in southeast Texas. Her husband Jim is a pharmacist and attorney. Their daughter India just completed a Masters degree in teaching at Drake University.
Roxanne is an independent travel consultant affiliated with Travel and Transport Vacations in Urbandale. She is an expert in planning cruise vacations. Traveling is high on her list of favorite things to do.
Roxanne loves to cook, and enjoys music and movies. She especially enjoys an author named Brad Thor, as his books are action packed and very fast paced. She also enjoys the books of Eric Larson, author of DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY and ISAAC’S STORM.
When Roxanne was a 16 year old in high school in the 1960’s, she sang with a choral group that performed as part of special services on military bases and hospitals in Japan, Korea, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Taiwan, the Philippines, Guam and Hawaii in a tour that lasted two months. Upon returning from the Far East the group spent a month entertaining on military bases in England. It was an experience of a lifetime
When asked what she was most proud of, Roxanne was quick to reply her husband and daughter, her Texas heritage, and her ability to “flower and grow where I am planted” since she and her husband have moved around a lot.
Her favorite things to do in Des Moines include the Farmers Market, trying new ethnic restaurants, and driving through the beautiful countryside. After all, doesn’t Iowa mean “Beautiful Land?”
Roxanne is very happy she joined Metro Women’s Network and really enjoys the variety of interests of a group of vibrant women.
